Loved the hotel, nice location, lovely reception area and staff were helpful! 25 minutes into the town by bus and a grea

The room was comfortable but we would have preferred (1) bed as opposed to a King plus a single as it takes up too much space when you have a lot of luggage (which we always have)!!!

The room was very noisy as the people next door partied from 9.30pm until 3.30am and the night porter came twice to the room to tell them to be quiet as we couldn’t sleep!! It’s not good enough to have such bad behaviour in a nice hotel!

We had a lovely relaxing stay

The hotel was lovely, very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly, it looked beautiful with all the Xmas decorations

The music could be a little too loud a outside the bar sometimes

We enjoyed our stay. Relaxed in the beautiful foyer for a while. Then went up to a lovely cosy room and best. Breakfast

Lovely spacious room and friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast as usual.

Room was lovely and spacious. Service in all parts of the hotel was excellent- staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to any visitors.

While there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, there wasn’t enough milk cartons left and they weren’t replenished when the room was serviced.

Not What We Expected

Based on all of the other review on this site, I had pretty high expectations. However, disappointment set in during check in. We had to stand and wait for sometime to check in due to several parties ahead of us and it was tea time and all the other seats were taken by people having tea. Not a good setup with having only a sit-down desk to check in. Next came the room. I would best describe it as dormitory-like. No air conditioning, dark and basic amenities. It was clean. Beds were very hard. Breakfast food was OK, but under-staffed. Parking is bad on the weekends.

For some inexplicable reason, the heating was turned off in my room which made for a chilly October stay. Also, found former guests socks in my room. Fáilte Ireland should perhaps audit this hotel's star rating.

There was a very friendly server with the name Ella which...

There was a very friendly server with the name Ella which made having dinner pleasant. The night clerk was always very nice. The staff in Christys pub were mighty and so was the music and pints. It’s not a bad location at all. A bus goes twice an hour outside the front right into the city stopping aT numerous locations for €2.80. The food was fabulous.

Other than the two staff listed above we found staff very rude and opinionated. From the moment we arrived we felt like because we were probably the youngest guests checking in (excl. children) that we were being looked down on constantly in a snobby manner. We were paying just like every other guest. At check in we were only made aware of breakfast. Not much other details were given like the fact you have to reserve a table for dinner which I think is ridiculous if you are a paying guest. Locked out of the hotel at nighttime and having to buzz to get in is not ideal either. Standing in the cold waiting for a night clerk isn’t ideal. The hotel couldn’t get a taxi for us into town and never informed of us the bus outside the front apart from a generous couple who told us we would have never known.

Very poor and deffinately not very clean. To pay €300 for this not impressed. Breakfast served in an off part of restaurant for the shop not hotel. Complained at check was just told sorry don't think anything will be done

Comfortable but tired

Breakfast was good - cooked food hot although only got 1 slice of toast so had to ask for more - presume this is to cut down on waste.

Room was at front of hotel just over foyer so was very noisy. Arrived on Sunday night after a long day's travel & was not made aware there was an Irish music session that night so had difficulty sleeping. People congregated outside the main entrance to smoke & smell drifted up into room. No hot water in shower on first morning but rectified for rest of stay. Room needs a little TLC as tiles/grout in bathroom need cleaning, base of bath stained...

GPS brought us in a weird way.

GPS brought us in a weird way. Perhaps the name Christys could be added to the address listing. Breakfast was superb. Beautiful location near Blarney Castle (walking distance).

It was hot. The weight room was unkempt and messy. Christys Pub was understaffed And the food was not very tasty. Over cooked chicken salad and my rare hamburger was well done. We would have sent it back but it had taken an hour for the food to arrive. The server was fantastic but a one person show. Perhaps it’s the off season? Everyone seemed overworked.

Staff were really friendly. Loved the interiors!! Location was excellent, you're right in the middle of blarney.

There was noise on the night I stayed but it was explained to me when I checked in that there was a party that night so I knew it would be a little noisy.

Had a fabulous stay, will definitely love to stay again when visiting the area

The hotel itself is wonderful, traditional with a modern feel. Lovely personal touches like a personalised letter from the manager on arrival, various daily updates on the tour notice board etc. The room was spacious, clean and wonderfully quiet and comfortable. The bar staff in the early evening seemed a bit stretched and distant, but given the footfall this can be somewhat understood, the team later in the evening were friendly and efficient. Overall a great stay, lovely quaint location on the ground of Blarney Castle, but yet only 20 mins from Cork City Centre. Will definitely book again for business and personal trips, great value for money

That first point left a bad taste

When booking via booking.com I was shown a double bed and a single bed in the photo of the twin room type. I was booking for a friend who had requested a double bed. This was the only reason to book that room. Upon arrival the room only had two single beds and was far more expensive that a single room. They said it could not be changed because it was booked via booking.com. So booking the room via booking.com resulting in 3 things: - booking a room based on falsely advertised room type (photo) - costing much more than what was need- not being able to change room type.

Beautiful building with quality decor. I would love to stay again.

The whole complex is really interesting, it is a beautiful building with lovely decor. The breakfast was excellent, so professionally presented. The food was also very good in Christys. Good value for money.
